For men, and those who stand with them

Every 2 hours, the UK loses another man to suicide.

You don't have to carry it alone. Step into a safe space and talk to men who understand, because many of us have been there too.

Asking for help is a sign of strength.

About us

No man should have to carry his heaviest burdens alone.
Run by men with lived experience No judgement Free to use

In the UK, suicide claims the life of a man roughly every two hours. Behind that statistic is a brother, a father, a son or a friend.

Valour Support was founded because we believe no man should face his struggles in silence. We are a community of men who meet to talk, listen and support one another. Whether you are going through a difficult season, feeling overwhelmed, or just want somewhere to be yourself, you are welcome here.

You don't have to arrive in crisis, or be ready to open up. Come for a brew and a chat. Get help at your own pace. We cannot change the national figures on our own, but we can change the story for the men in our community.

Be part of the group

We are building a group of men who plan to meet regularly to talk, eat, play darts or board games, and look out for one another. Add your name and we'll let you know when and where we meet.

  • Free to join, and you can leave any time.
  • No pressure to talk. Come as you are.
  • Partners, family and friends are welcome to join too.

How we help

Real support for real life

Life rarely throws one problem at a time. We help with whatever is weighing on you, and walk with you to the right specialist when you need one.

A safe place to talk

Confidential, judgement-free conversation with men who get it. Say as much or as little as you like.

Alcohol addiction

Support from people who have fought the same battle, plus help getting into local recovery services.

Drug addiction

Honest, non-judgemental support around drug use and relapse, alongside specialist treatment providers.

Housing problems

Facing eviction, sofa-surfing or unsafe housing? We help you understand your options and who to contact.

Employment guidance

CVs, interviews, training and finding direction again. Practical next steps back into work.

The hangout

A social place to just hang out. Food, darts, board games and good company. No agenda, no pressure to talk.

We are a peer support community, not a medical or emergency service. We work alongside local addiction, mental health, housing and employment services, and can connect you with them directly.

For partners, family & friends

Standing by him is hard. We get it.

Living with someone who is struggling with addiction, anger, low mood or shutting down can wear you out. We support the people who stand by them too.

  • Understand what may be going through his mind, from men who have been there.
  • Learn what really helps, and what can make things harder without meaning to.
  • Look after your own wellbeing while you support someone else.

Ask us anything

Pick our brains

Talk to people who have gone through it themselves. Ask the questions you can't ask him, and get honest answers about addiction, mental health and how men think when things get heavy.

Out in the community

We come to you

Many men will never walk into an office to ask for help. So we take the help to where men already are.

Pop-up

The Valour van, town to town

Our van travels from town to town and sets up a pop-up gazebo in the town centre. Walk in, grab some information and have a chat there and then. No appointment needed.

Coming soon

Weekly walk-in centre

We aim to open a walk-in centre one day a week, where anyone can come in and ask for help. Men, partners, family and friends all welcome.

For employers

Workplace pop-up days

We bring the van and gazebo to building sites, depots and workplaces so staff can check in on their mental health with someone who will listen.

Workplaces & enquiries

Bring Valour to your team

Imagine a building site where workers can step into our gazebo on their break and have a proper chat about how they're really doing.

Sometimes simply acknowledging that someone is having a hard time is what makes them feel heard. Our workplace pop-up days give your staff a safe, informal place to talk, and connect them to support if they need it.

Suicide prevention is all about talking. Don't keep it in.
